VIT Counselling 2026: Complete Admission Process, Phase-Wise Schedule, Fee Details Released

Vellore Institute of Technology has officially released the detailed counselling and admission schedule for VITEEE 2026 qualified candidates. Students who appeared in the entrance examination can now participate in the online counselling process through the official counselling portal.
According to the official notification, candidates securing a rank up to 1,00,000 are eligible for admission to all four VIT campuses — Vellore, Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal. Candidates ranked between 1,00,001 and 1,50,000 can apply only for VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal campuses, while those securing ranks above 1,50,000 are eligible exclusively for admission to the VIT-AP campus.
The counselling process has started from May 8, 2026, and candidates are advised to complete all formalities within their respective phase deadlines to avoid cancellation of admission offers.
Counselling Fee and Registration Process
Candidates must first visit the official counselling portal to check their rank and counselling eligibility.
The online counselling fee has been fixed at ₹5,900 (inclusive of GST). This fee is non-refundable and must be paid within the prescribed timeline for each counselling phase. The payment facility became active from May 8, 2026 at 10 PM.
Only after successful payment of the counselling fee will candidates be allowed to participate in choice filling for campus, programme and fee category selection.

Important Advisory for Candidates
VIT has clearly stated that once a seat is allotted, the allotted programme, campus and fee category cannot be changed under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are strongly advised to fill in as many choices as possible during the counselling process to maximize their chances of seat allotment.

Candidates who fail to pay the advance tuition fee before the prescribed deadline will automatically lose their allotted seat.

VIT 2026 Tuition Fee Structure
VIT has also released the category-wise tuition fee structure for Group A and Group B programmes.
Group A Programmes
- Category I: ₹1.78 lakh annually
- Category II: ₹2.37 lakh annually
- Category III: ₹3.45 lakh annually
- Category IV: ₹3.70 lakh annually
- Category V: ₹4.00 lakh annually
Group B Programmes
- Category I: ₹2.00 lakh annually
- Category II: ₹3.09 lakh annually
- Category III: ₹4.07 lakh annually
- Category IV: ₹4.50 lakh annually
- Category V: ₹4.95 lakh annually
For B.Tech Civil Engineering programmes offered in collaboration with L&T, separate fee structures have also been announced.
Additionally, candidates opting for VIT-Bhopal Group B programmes will have to pay an extra ₹3,000 for each category.
