New Delhi, June 13: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially released the Round 1 seat allotment result for JoSAA Counselling 2026. Candidates seeking admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) can now check their allotment status through the official counselling portal.

The Round 1 allotment has been prepared based on candidates’ JEE Main and JEE Advanced ranks, category, seat availability, and the choices filled during the counselling process. Students who have been allotted seats must complete the online reporting process within the prescribed schedule to confirm their admission.

What After Round 1 Seat Allotment?

Candidates allotted a seat are required to:

• Check their allotted institute and branch.
• Upload the required documents for verification.
• Pay the seat acceptance fee.
• Choose one of the following options:
  • Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and exit further rounds.
  • Float: Accept the current seat while remaining eligible for a higher preferred choice in subsequent rounds.
  • Slide: Accept the allotted institute and seek a better branch within the same institute.

Failure to complete these steps within the deadline may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

Candidates should keep the following documents ready for online verification:

• Class 10 certificate/mark sheet
• Class 12 certificate/mark sheet
• JEE Main 2026 scorecard
• JEE Advanced 2026 rank card (for IIT admissions)
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Valid photo identity proof
• Passport-size photograph
• Seat allotment letter and other required declarations

2. Log in using JEE credentials.
3. Click on the Round 1 Seat Allotment Result link.
4. View the allotted institute and programme.
5. Download the provisional allotment letter.

Seat Upgradation Opportunity

Candidates opting for Float or Slide will remain eligible for seat upgradation in the upcoming counselling rounds based on their preference order, rank, and seat availability. Those satisfied with their allotted seat can choose the Freeze option and secure admission in the current round.
