MP NEET UG Counselling 2025: 8,871 Candidates Eligible for 60 MBBS, BDS Seats in Stray Vacancy Round

The Department of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, has released the list of candidates eligible for the stray vacancy round of MP NEET UG Counselling 2025. A total of 8,871 candidates have been found eligible to compete for the remaining 60 MBBS and BDS seats across government and private medical colleges in the state.
Stray Vacancy Round: The Final Opportunity
The stray vacancy round is the concluding phase of the NEET UG counselling process, offering the last chance for admission to leftover medical and dental seats. Candidates who were not allotted a seat in earlier rounds but had completed the registration process are included in this list.
According to officials, the remaining seats include a combination of MBBS seats in private medical colleges and BDS seats in both government and private dental colleges. Government MBBS seats have nearly been filled in the previous rounds.
What Candidates Should Know
Only candidates whose names appear on the stray round eligibility list are allowed to participate.
No fresh registration is permitted at this stage.
Seat allotment will depend entirely on merit, preferences, and seat availability.
Once a seat is allotted in the stray vacancy round, candidates must complete admission formalities immediately, as no further rounds will be conducted.
DME MP has advised all eligible candidates to regularly check the official counselling portal for instructions on choice filling, seat allotment dates, reporting deadlines, and updated vacancy details.
Why So Many Candidates for Few Seats?
Experts note that the disparity between 8,871 eligible aspirants and only 60 available seats highlights the intense competition for medical education in India. Many candidates also wait for stray rounds hoping for last-minute withdrawals or unclaimed seats.
Next Steps
DME will soon publish the detailed schedule, choice filling window, and seat allotment results for this round. Candidates must keep their documents ready for verification and timely reporting to allotted colleges.
