IIT Bombay Extends CEED, UCEED 2026 Registration Deadline to November 5
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced an extension of the registration deadline for CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) and UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) 2026 till November 5, 2025. The decision comes as a relief to aspirants who were yet to complete their application process.
Candidates can register for the exams on the official portals — ceed.iitb.ac.in and uceed.iitb.ac.in. The extension applies to registrations without late fees.
🔹 About the Deadline Extension
Originally, the last date to submit the application forms was October 31, 2025, but many students had reported technical glitches and delays in obtaining required documents such as category certificates. Responding to these concerns, IIT Bombay extended the registration window by five days.
The institute clarified that this is the final extension and no further changes will be made to the schedule. After November 5, candidates may be allowed to apply with a late fee till November 12, 2025.
🔹 CEED & UCEED 2026 Exam Dates
Both CEED and UCEED 2026 exams are scheduled to be held on January 19, 2026 (Sunday), from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The admit cards will be released on January 8, 2026.
🔹 Eligibility Criteria
UCEED 2026:
Open to candidates who have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2024 or are appearing in 2025.
Candidates from all streams — Science, Commerce, or Arts — are eligible.
CEED 2026:
Open to candidates with a degree/diploma/postgraduate degree (minimum 3 years) or those appearing in the final year of such programs.
There is no age limit and candidates can appear for CEED any number of times.
🔹 Registration Fees
Female / SC / ST / PwD candidates: ₹1,900
All other candidates: ₹3,800
Late registration fee: ₹500 extra after November 5
Payment can be made online through debit/credit card, UPI, or net banking.
🔹 About the Exams
The UCEED is conducted for admission to B.Des programs at premier institutes such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur.
The CEED is a postgraduate entrance exam for M.Des and PhD programs at institutes including IITs, IISc Bengaluru, IIITDM Jabalpur, and other participating institutions.
Both exams test candidates on visual perception, creativity, problem-solving, design thinking, analytical skills, and communication ability.
