The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) has announced the launch of three new technology-driven academic programmes with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Analytics, and Technology-led Management. The announcement was made by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, during the Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026, marking a major step towards integrating advanced technology with management education in India.

Three New Programmes Introduced

The newly launched programmes aim to create future-ready professionals who can bridge the gap between technology and business leadership.

1. BS in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics

• A four-year undergraduate programme, being introduced for the first time at IIM Lucknow.

• Admission will be through JEE Advanced, making it one of the rare IIM undergraduate courses with an engineering-level entrance requirement.

• Open to students who have completed Class 12 (10+2).

• The programme is scheduled to begin from the 2026–27 academic session.

• Curriculum will focus on AI fundamentals, data science, analytics, and business decision-making, along with managerial and ethical aspects of technology use.

2. Tech MBA Programme

• A two-year postgraduate Tech MBA programme proposed to start from the 2027–28 academic year.

• Designed for professionals and graduates seeking leadership roles in technology-driven business environments.

• Emphasis will be on AI applications, digital transformation, innovation management, and strategic leadership.

3. Integrated BS + Tech MBA Programme

• A five-year integrated programme combining the undergraduate BS degree with the Tech MBA.

• Enables students to gain deep technical expertise along with advanced management training in a streamlined format.

• Intended to produce leaders with strong analytical, technological, and business acumen.

Speaking at the launch, Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the importance of ethical, inclusive, and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence. He underlined India’s ambition to become a global hub for AI-driven innovation and stressed the role of higher education institutions in nurturing future leaders who can harness technology for societal and economic development.

The Director of IIM Lucknow stated that the programmes are designed as a modular, industry-aligned curriculum, integrating cutting-edge technology with real-world business applications. The focus is on developing digital leadership, innovation capability, and entrepreneurial thinking.

The introduction of AI-centric undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at IIM Lucknow marks a significant shift in India’s management education ecosystem.
