The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi is a State University which was established in 2005 under the Act 27. The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and it is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). National University of Advanced Legal Studies, also known as NUALS, is located in the Ernakulam district of Kochi City. It is a Public law school and the National Law University. It is one of the 26 NLU’s and the only law University in the state of Kerala. The admission is taken through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The university was established under the National University of Advanced Legal Studies Act in 2005, which was passed by the legislative assembly of the state of Kerala.
The National University of Advanced Legal Studies is ranked 38th by NIRF. The State Government of Kerala, the UGC, the AIU, and the BCI have approved the university. The university offers various courses such as UG, PG, and Ph.D. Apart from these, the university also offers diploma courses.
The LLM is offered as its flagship course, for which the eligibility criteria are that the candidate must have cleared the CLAT exam and hold an LLB degree with a minimum of 50% marks. The annual fees are INR 1.6 – 1.63 Lakh. The selection is taken on an entrance basis.
The placement recorded at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies for 2023 was INR 15 LPA, according to NIRF data. However, the placement record for recent years has not been updated.
