NLU Bhopal (The National Law Institute University), was established by the Rashtriya Vidhi Sansthan Vishwa Vidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1997 by an Act of the Madhya Pradesh State Legislature. NLU Bhopal is recognized by the University Grants Commission and the Bar Council of India. NLIU was ranked fifth in India by The Week’s “Top Law Colleges 2017”. Faculties at NLU Bhopal use an interdisciplinary approach for teaching students, to keep the students’ minds from being narrowed down by the formal logic of law and its divergence from practical life.

About NLU Bhopal

Learning is through a combination of textbooks, classroom tuition, discussions, seminars, and research projects. The Library “GyanMandir” has a very rich collection of books, journals (national and international), e-resources like Manupatra, AIR, SCC, Hein online, Lexis Nexis, etc. It publishes many journals of its own, few of them are Indian Law Review, NLIU Journal of Intellectual Property Law and NLIU Law Review.

As an opportunity to join NLU Bhopal right after class 12, the university offers B.A. L.L.B. (Hons.) and B.Sc. L.L.B.(Hons.) as undergrad options.

NLU Bhopal: B.A. LLB Honors

There are two semesters in a year and each semester is of around four months of duration. It is the flagship course of NLU Bhopal, where it imparts the legal education to students with an interdisciplinary structure followed in National Law Universities to cultivate socially aware lawyers.

B.A. LLB Honors: Eligibility

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria listed below.

  • Forty-five percent (45%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories, and
  • Forty Percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) categories.

This course is one of its kind offered by NLU Bhopal to capitalise on the advancements in technology and cultivate lawyers who can navigate the regulatory landscape of cyberspace.This course will impart an understanding of the legal regime in cyberspace, data protection, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence both on domestic and international level.
