BIT Mesra Official Website has started the online application process for admission to B.Tech. and Integrated M.Sc. programmes for the 2026 academic session at its Patna and Deoghar campuses under reserved category seats for eligible candidates from Bihar and Jharkhand respectively.

According to the official notification, the online application process commenced on April 22, 2026, and the last date to submit the application form is May 31, 2026. The institute is expected to release the first seat allotment result in the first week of June 2026. However, the institute has clarified that all dates are tentative and subject to change.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

The admission process is specifically meant for reserved category candidates belonging to Bihar and Jharkhand states.

For admission to the Deoghar campus, candidates must:

• Have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks
• Belong to the BC-I (NCL) or BC-II (NCL) category of Jharkhand
• Be residents of Jharkhand state

For admission to the Patna campus, candidates must:

• Have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with minimum 60% marks
• Belong to BC-I (NCL) or BC-II (NCL) category of Bihar
• Be residents of Bihar state

Candidates must also have appeared in JEE Main 2026 and possess a valid Common Rank List (CRL) rank.

Required Subjects in Class 12

For admission to B.Tech. and Integrated M.Sc. programmes, students should have studied:

• Physics
• Mathematics
• Any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or Technical Vocational subject
• One language subject
• One additional subject

The institute stated that all required subjects at Class 10 and Class 12 level must have been passed from the same board.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• OBC/EBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2026
• In boards awarding grades instead of marks, percentage calculation will be based on the board’s prescribed formula or GPA × 10
• Medium of instruction and examinations at BIT Mesra will be English
• Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility conditions before applying

Application Process

Eligible candidates can fill out the online application form through the institute website. Applicants are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,500 through online payment methods including debit card, credit card, or net banking.

The institute has also informed candidates that separate application forms must be submitted for different programmes such as B.Tech., B.Arch., and Integrated M.Sc., along with additional application fees wherever applicable.

Selection Procedure

Admissions will be granted provisionally based on the candidate’s performance and CRL rank in JEE Main 2026, subject to fulfillment of age criteria and minimum academic requirements.
