The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has released the NIFT 2026 provisional answer key for candidates who appeared in the General Ability Test (GAT) for BDes and MDes admissions. The answer key has been issued for Shift 1 of the examination.

Candidates who are not satisfied with the provisional answers can challenge the answer key till February 19, 2026. Objections must be submitted online within the stipulated timeline along with the prescribed fee. Challenges submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Courses Covered

The released answer key is applicable for admissions to the following programmes:

• Bachelor of Design (BDes)

• Master of Design (MDes)

• Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech)

• Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech)

How the Answer Key Helps

Using the provisional answer key, candidates can estimate their probable scores and assess their performance before the declaration of results. After reviewing all valid objections, NIFT will release the final answer key, on the basis of which the results will be prepared.

Exam Conducting Authority

The entrance examination was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at designated centres across the country.

What’s Next?

Once the final answer key is published, NIFT 2026 results will be announced, followed by further stages of the admission process, including situation tests, interviews, and counselling as applicable to different programmes.
