NTA SWAYAM January 2026 Exam Dates Announced; CBT and PBT to Be Held from June 17

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the examination schedule for the SWAYAM January 2026 semester examinations. As per the latest update, the exams will be conducted in hybrid mode, including both Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen-and-Paper-Based Test (PBT) formats, starting from June 17, 2026.
The SWAYAM exams are held for candidates enrolled in online courses offered through the Government of India’s SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) platform.

Exam mode: Hybrid (CBT and PBT)
Duration: Exams will be conducted over multiple days, depending on the course and paper
Total courses covered: Around 648 SWAYAM courses
The examinations will be organised across various centres in India to accommodate candidates from different regions.
Exam Modes Explained
Computer-Based Test (CBT):
Conducted online at designated exam centres for selected courses.Pen-and-Paper-Based Test (PBT):
Conducted in offline mode for courses requiring traditional written examinations.
Candidates will be informed about their exam mode, date, shift, and centre details through the SWAYAM exam admit card.
Paper Pattern
The NTA SWAYAM January 2026 examination will primarily consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Questions will be based on the syllabus of the respective SWAYAM course.
Each course may have a different marking scheme, as specified by the course coordinator.
There may be negative marking, depending on the course guidelines.
