CLAT 2026 Counselling Round 1 Registration Ends Today for UG, PG Law Admissions; Seat Allotment on January 7

New Delhi: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will close the registration window for Round 1 of CLAT 2026 counselling today for candidates seeking admission to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) law programmes. Aspirants who have qualified in CLAT 2026 and wish to secure admission to participating NLUs must complete the counselling registration process within the stipulated deadline.
According to the official counselling schedule, the Round 1 seat allotment results will be announced on January 7, marking the beginning of the admission process for the academic session 2026–27.
CLAT 2026 Counselling Process
CLAT counselling is a centralised online process conducted by the Consortium for admissions to five-year integrated LLB programmes and LLM programmes offered by National Law Universities across India.
Only candidates who have:
Qualified CLAT 2026, and
Completed counselling registration and fee payment
will be considered for seat allotment.
Courses Offered Through CLAT 2026
Admissions through CLAT counselling are conducted for:
UG Programmes: BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons), among others
PG Programme: LLM
Seats will be allotted based on CLAT rank, category, preference order of NLUs, and seat availability.

Confirmation / Upgradation Window: As per Consortium schedule
Candidates allotted seats must confirm or upgrade their allotment by completing the required formalities within the specified timeframe to avoid forfeiture.
Post Seat Allotment Process
After the declaration of Round 1 results, candidates will be required to:
Accept or upgrade the allotted seat
Pay the confirmation fee
Upload documents for verification
Subsequent rounds of counselling will be conducted to fill remaining seats across NLUs.

CLAT 2026 counselling covers admissions to prominent NLUs, including:
National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad
National Law University, Delhi (for PG admissions through CLAT)
WBNUJS, Kolkata
NLU Jodhpur, NLU Bhopal, NLU Lucknow, NLU Patna, and other participating NLUs
Each NLU follows its own reservation policy and eligibility criteria as per Consortium norms.
