Admission Process

Admissions to Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Angara are conducted strictly as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and NESTS.

• Admissions are primarily offered in Class VI through a national-level entrance examination, known as the EMRS Selection Test.
• The admission notification is released by NESTS through official channels and district administration.
• The selection process is merit-based, ensuring transparency and equal opportunity.
• Shortlisted students are called for document verification and medical fitness check before final admission.
• Limited lateral entry in higher classes may be permitted as per government norms and availability of seats.

Eligibility Criteria

• The student must belong to a Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
• The candidate should have passed the previous qualifying class from a recognized school.
• Age criteria must be followed strictly as prescribed by NESTS for each class.
• The student should be medically fit for residential schooling.

Fee Structure

Eklavya Model Residential Schools are fully government-funded institutions.

• No tuition fee is charged from students.
• No hostel fee is applicable.
• No charges for books, uniforms, stationery, boarding, or lodging.

All academic and residential expenses are borne by the Government of India through the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Scholarship & Financial Support

• Students receive free education, including accommodation, meals, textbooks, uniforms, and learning materials.
• Eligible students may receive stipends and allowances as per government rules.
• Additional support is provided for:
