Assam NEET UG 2025: Round 1 Counselling Results Declared

    Assam

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has released the Round 1 seat allotment results for NEET UG 2025 counselling. The results are available on the official website, enabling candidates to check their allotted MBBS and BDS seats across government and private medical colleges in the state.

    Seat Allotment Highlights

    • Admissions have been made based on All India Rank (AIR), reservation policies, and availability of seats.

    • Candidates allotted seats in Round 1 must report to their respective colleges within the given timeline to confirm admissions.

    • Failure to report or complete the admission process will lead to cancellation, and such seats will be carried forward to the next round.

    Reporting Schedule

The DME has instructed that candidates allotted seats should:

    • Report to their allotted college with original documents, including NEET UG 2025 admit card, scorecard, domicile certificate, category certificate (if applicable), and Class 10 & 12 mark sheets.

    • Pay the required admission fee to secure their seat.

    • Complete the verification process within the stipulated period, failing which their seat will be forfeited.

    Next Steps in Counselling

    • After Round 1 reporting concludes, the vacant seat matrix will be updated.

    • Round 2 counselling will be conducted for remaining MBBS and BDS seats.

    • A mop-up round may also be organized if vacancies persist after the second round.

    Reservation & Seat Distribution

The allotment has been carried out in line with Assam’s reservation norms for SC, ST (Hills/Plains), OBC/MOBC, EWS, PwD, and other categories, ensuring fair representation in medical admissions.

    Student Reactions

Several aspirants expressed relief after securing seats in government colleges, while others are preparing for the second round, hoping to upgrade their allotment. Experts advised students to carefully weigh their options before deciding whether to accept, upgrade, or opt out in the next rounds.

    Official Advisory

The DME has urged candidates to follow the official portal only for updates and avoid third-party counselling agents. Students are also advised to keep a close watch on notifications regarding Round 2 counselling dates.
